Web Design

Now more than ever I have been really buzzing around website buzzwords. I have been trying to fill the niche that Southern California webites and website designers lack, and that's the strong need for mobile and multiple sized browsers. Nowadays more than ever, its almost a must for a website to be able to deliver strong content and appropriate content to the mobile user. Some things to consider:

1: What are your mobile users looking for?
This has to be the most important point here. Anyone who is going to visit your site from a mobile platform is probably doing so to seek very specific content. The phone number is one very important aspect to show clearly. Think about it, they are probably on there phone already, one click and they are one step closer to closing that deal with you. Other content such as "The Owner's Blog" may not necessarily be the most important information that they want to see. Think about what you would want to know about your business in a situation where you only had 2 minutes to look.

2. Size of buttons:
This is huge considering the fact that so many people can barely use their phone as it is. The size of the buttons will determine how they view the information that they are there to receive. Without large easy to read buttons, they can easily get lost and will hit the home button and bounce from your page very quickly.

3. Layout:
Don't flood your mobile visitors with columns that show how many facebook friends you have. That is most likely not what your mobile website visitors are there to see. Have links out to your facebook or other social links to give them quick and easy access. Your site can benefit from the screen real estate on such a small pixel size.

These are the VERY MINIMAL things to think about when contemplating a mobile website! Don't take my word as final. There are rules but there is always reasons to break the rules.
